11 hours!!!!

Yay for a full night's sleep!!!!
Hazel went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept all the way through to 6:30 this morning! I am so excited!

Isn't my little redneck too cute??? That's our post-swim-after-our-birthday-party outfit. Mommy, with all the other things getting packed and going on, forgot to pack an outfit for changing into after getting into the pool. So we improvised. The dress is one of mommy's tank tops, it's Hazel's sweater and hat. I think this outfit is a winner!

Popsicles make it all better

Today was kind of a lazy day here in the Davis household. Brett got up early with Hazel, letting me sleep another hour (have I mentioned how I love and adore the most amazing man in the world?). Then I got up, let him get ready to go and play tennis with Matt Rodriguez at the Tennis Club. He left around 11:30 not too long after I got Hazel down for her "morning" nap. She got a good nap, and woke up around 1, full of energy. We played and chased each other around the room and goofed off, then I decided to check something on the computer, so she wandered around touching each toy she owned. Cute.

Then she decided she wanted up on the couch. Now, she's been climbing up on the couches for about a month now (which is what prompted the living room rearrangement), so she's pretty good at it by now, actually, she's pretty good at climbing ANYTHING at this point...anyway, I'm not really concerned about her getting up there, it's being up there and getting back down without injury that we're currently working on.

Well, today, as she was lifting her Right Leg as high as her little hips would allow it, she lost her footing on her Left Leg...it slipped right out from under her. And it wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't fallen face first on the side of a box, and bit her tongue. Screaming, crying, bleeding. I ran over and hugged and cuddled and held her as close as possible, but she was very upset, and rightfully so! I would cry if I bit my tongue hard enough to make it bleed! So, being new at this mom thing, and realizing she should have ice on it, but knowing she's not going to do anything to a frozen rag or an ice cube but play with it, I gave her a popsicle (or Lolly to you Irishmen/Brits). We found some all natural pops with coconut milk and pineapple puree, and she seems to love them. So, after one popsicle, all injuries were forgotten...I even got a hug and a kiss!

Frowns and a whole popsicle.....

Going...Going...Gone!!!! All Better!

Another day in La-La-Land

So, it's Friday, already! I can't believe it! I need to clean and such, but right now, at 8 am, I don't feel like it. So I thought about knitting, but I really don't feel like doing that either. I got in a huge fight with mom last night, which I hate, so I just kind of feel like sitting around being depressed all day. It's been one of those weeks, so I feel as though I have no more energy for anything today. I should walk with Hazel down to Mom N Tots today, but we'll see what I get to.

I sound like the worlds biggest pity party don't I?

I really don't mean to, I'm just, ya know...blah :)

Death of a mom....

Happy Birthday Hazel!!!!! yes, I'm aware I'm 6 days late, but it's been a crazy week....better late than never, right? The weekend was wonderful...we traveled around the northern coast with Granny on Saturday and then Sunday we got up early and had Ulster Fry (gotta introduce Granny to everything!) then got back and got ready for the party!

I bought Hazel a little pink dress, pink fairy wings, a pink tiara, and a princess wand....
We had cake... Friends... Presents.... Lotsa food.... It was a good time! Quick, though. We were setting up and clearing out all between 12:45 and 2 when they kicked us out. Then we went swimming with Michelle and her daughter Beth, Nicola and her son Alistair, Marina and Emma, Sarah and Isaac, and Granny....God bless Daddy, he took all the aftermath of the party home while we played. He's the best Daddy, ya know?

At the end of the day, I was exhausted. We all went home, got ready for bed, and I believe for a brief few hours I was clinically dead...well, atleast until HAzel woke up the first time during the night....

Hurricane Hazel

So, yesterday, I got no sleep. Hazel napped for 1/2 hour TOPS. So I got 20 minutes of a nap, and I'm not a catnapper. There's no little naps that revive this mom. I need a proper amount of naptime....like atleast an hour or two....in order to get wind back in my sails.

While Hurricanes are hitting the Southern US as we speak, the Davis household had it's own hurricane rip through our home, leaving devistation in all areas that she touched......

We decided to rip apart 2 magazines, unload an entire package of diapers, unwind a ball of yarn, completely empty our toy box and smear juice all over the floor. The pillows were pulled off the couch, laundry unfolded, it was just amazing. She's only 1!!!! What am I going to do when she's 2/3/4/5??????

But to make up for the mess, I found her sitting in her toybox (which is stored under the TV) playing, so I took pictures b/c it was way to darn cute....

So, I forgave her for the mess. Do you blame me?

2 1/2 hours....really?

So last night I got a grand total of about 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Hazel slept on my chest from about 12:30 until 4 and then was up again at 6. Sigh. So sleepy....

Last night we had another blow out that made last Saturday's look mild. It was EVERYWHERE. So, after running her and her poo covered body up to the bath to rinse off, I decided to pick up diapers the next size up. It seems to be the only likely fix for our pooing outside her undies problem....here's to hoping!!!!

OK, I'm off, it's breakfast time!

Yay for a jetlag free night!

So last night was the first night in a week that we weren't suffering from Jetlag. Hazel was asleep at 8:30 and slept until 7am, waking only once around midnight for 30- 45 minutes and then she went straight back to bed with no fighting....YAY!!!!!!!!

This week and next, mom and tots groups start back up. We have breastfeeding group at 10:30 this morning until 12:30, then Hazel and I are going into town to pick up a few essentials for groceries. Since we're going to London this weekend for a few days, I hate to make an entire Tesco order just for tomorrow and Friday. We'll hold off and make an order Monday to be delivered Tuesday afternoon when Mom's here!

I think I'm going to go to Argos this afternoon and get a few things to try and organize this house. I have a feeling we're going to be here until next August, so I kind of need to start figuring out what we can do to make the best of the space we have....I'm thinking an over the door coat racks will do well for our coats down here. Plus I need to find some frames to put up pictures...So much to do!!!!!

Uh-oh...I think The Nut just threw up on her knee...need to go find new pants for Breastfeeding group.....
Talk to you all later!
